Welcome to my website on hunting and fishing.

Thanks for visiting my page, if you came here, you are either interested in hunting, fishing or maybe it is just because I ask you to visit. Whatever the reason, I hope that when you leave here, you take a smile with you. I have been hunting with my hubby here in Tennessee for the last 27 years. I am married to a wonderful hunting partner and we are parents of two children. The oldest being 21, she is just now showing an interest in hunting. The youngest is 14 and he loves to fish, but still hesitates to deer hunt. I just enjoy the outdoors and find a peace in my soul with the beauty of nature. I believe that is what started me hunting: the chance to get outside and sit and just be at peace with the world. For those who do not hunt, they should try the experience just once. The hunting part of it and the taking of game is just a minor part of what makes a hunter.

To listen to the morning waking up around you, the birds beginning to chirp and stretch their rested wings for that first morning flight. To watch the sunrise over the distance treeline as it stretches out its welcoming warmth in the cool dawn air. To hear the lone hoot owl bid farewell to the nite from across the forest. To breath that air, fresh from the dampness of night and smell the odor of pine, damp earth and of the woods around you. To catch a glimpse of a coon or other nite creature as it meanders toward its daily den. To watch the usually frisky gray squirrels peek out at the sunrise and step out on a limp for their morning stretch. Watching the mighty fox squirrel guard his hord of nuts from the scampering little chipmunks on the woods floor and listen as the creek babbles in the valley below. All of these things are near and dear to the heart of a true hunter. For they are things that touch ones soul with a fondness for the outdoors. Hunting is truly a nature experience and each trip out is unique in its own terms. A bonding with nature like no other. Hunting is a way of life. Enjoy it while you can.

The Saga of Our DeerCamp

Pictured below is hubby chopping wood for the guys who own the land we hunt on. Always pays to be helpful to the landowners. We have become part of this family in the many years that we have hunted their property. Helping fence, gather crops and fixing machinery are among the many things we do in return for the privilege of hunting over 500ac. of the best deer hunting in western Tennessee.

They have allowed us to set up a camping trailer year round with electricity connection, if needed. Those home cooked biscuits and country cured ham sure taste good after a mornings hunt with a cup of hot coffee made just for us. These guys are excellent cooks, being without women folk around all these years, they learned to be master chefs.

After the mornings hunt, we warm by the fire as we enjoy sharing the hunt with them. They often lend a hand in hauling out the big ones. Thanks JP and Grover, we love ya, guys!

**update** Grover entered that happy hunting ground in the sky on September 3, 2000. I sure do miss his sweet little smile, but I can just visualize it each time I now take a deer from the farm. I miss our chats by the fireside and recounts of where he saw the big bucks.
He always smiled the biggest when he would hear me say:
"Catch me a big en, and tie him up in that mighty barn, Grover!"
